I trained to be a teacher at Durham University, achieving a distinction in art.

I then taught in primary schools as the art co-ordinator.

In 2006 I graduated at the University of Sunderland with a BA (Hons) Fine Art degree.

Since then I have been working as an artist and writer and more recently as a musician.
